This week we have the return legs of the two English Football League Semi-Finals, the first one coming from St James Park where Newcastle host Arsenal. Eddie Howe’s side got a somewhat shock 2-0 victory at the Emirates bringing an end to the Gunners unbeaten home record this season.
The Magpies are having a good season in the Premiership currently in 5th but they have lost two of their last four games both in front of their home fans. They lost 4-1 to Bournemouth and then more recently 2-1 to Fulham. It would be extremely disappointing if they throw away their advantage from the first leg of this tie but they do have a good record against Arsenal.
The visitors Arsenal are having a great season with Mikel Arteta’s side sitting 2nd in the table, their home form had been rock solid until Newcastle beat them in the first leg of this tie at the Emirates. The Magpies beat them at St James Park in the league 1-0 earlier in the season so they seem to be a bit of a bogey side for the Gunners.
Arteta’s side have an uphill task to get to Wembley now but anything can happen in the Cup, the visitors just have this cup remaining after a third round defeat to Man United at the Emirates on penalties. Kick off Wednesday 8pm Live on Sky Sports.

The second tie comes from Anfield where Liverpool host Tottenham for the return leg, Arne Slot’s side are six points clear in the Premiership with a game in hand. They haven’t been beaten in the league since Forest beat them at Anfield in September 1-0.
The homeside suffered a 1-0 defeat in the first leg but will have the fire power going forward to pull this tie back their way. Mohammed Salah has scored a almighty 21 goals this season in the league and then they have forwards Cody Gakpo (8) and Luis Diaz (8) so the Tottenham defence will have their work cut out here.
The visitors Spurs have been having a poor season and manager Ange Postecoglou is under pressure to get his side back playing football, they currently sit 14th in the league. They managed a 2-0 away victory at Brentford at the weekend so at least they will come into this second leg tie with a little bit of confidence.
They have a 1-0 advantage here but fans will be hoping their side can get on the scoresheet to hold a chance of a trip to Wembley. Kick off Thursday at 8pm Live on Sky Sports.
