In this article we will look at the three fixtures involving the bottom three sides. The first one to preview is from the Vitality Stadium where Bournemouth will host Ipswich, Andoni Iraola’s side look to complete the home and away double over their opponents after beating them 1-2 earlier in the season. They came from a goal behind to score in the 87th and 95th minute to get the three points.
The homeside sit 10th in the table but arrive here without a win in the Premiership in the last four. Their bad run started with a home loss to Wolves (0-1), an away defeat to Brighton (2-1), then they managed a draw away at Tottenham (2-2) before losing at home to Brentford in their last game (1-2). This looks like a great chance to get back to getting maximum points in the league and increase Justin Kluivert’s 12 goal tally for the season.
The visitors Ipswich face an extreme uphill task to avoid relegation, Kieran McKenna’s side have nine points to close down to stay up currently with just nine games remaining. They are also going through a winless run too having lost their last four games in the league. It started with a home loss to Tottenham (1-4), before a away defeat to Man United (3-2), an away defeat to Crystal Palace (1-0) and then the most recent game ended with a home loss to Nottingham Forest (2-4).
The seasiders have conceded twelve goals in their last four fixtures so we feel this will be another game which encounters goals.

The second fixture to look at is from the Etihad where Man City face Leicester, Pep Guardiola’s side have won their last five fixtures against Leicester. They aren’t having the best season sitting in 5th in the table and fighting for a Champions League place next season. The European adventure came to a halt when they got beat by Real Madrid losing 6-3 on aggregate so the only chance of silverware comes in the FA Cup.
The homeside’s last two league games have resulted in a defeat away to Nottingham Forest (1-0) and a draw at home to Brighton (2-2). The Forest game was a late goal winner in a tight game and then the draw to Brighton they gave away the lead twice.
They face a side in Leicester who sit in 19th and nine points from safety, Ruud Van Nistelrooy is already being touted as not being the manager of the side if they go down. He’s managed just one league game victory which was away to Tottenham since he took charge (1-2). You can argue that you can only work with what players you’ve got and with the financial restrictions the Foxes had things were always going to be tough.
The visitors have failed to score in their last six games and conceded 16 goals in the meantime. We can’t see anything changing her unfortunately for their fans.

The last of the fixtures to look at comes from St Mary’s where bottom of the table Southampton will host Crystal Palace. Ivan Juric’s side are eight points adrift of their nearest rivals and a mighty 17 points from safety, it’s safe to say that fans have accepted their side will be playing Championship football next season.
The homeside last managed a league win back on the 1st February where they beat Ipswich away (1-2). Since that day they have lost all five of their Premiership games, they have been hitting the net at least but their defence has been leaking considerably conceding 16 goals.
They face a side in Crystal Palace who look to complete the home and away double this season having won 2-1 at Selhurst Park. Oliver Glasner’s side sit 12th in the table but their away form has been better than their home form throughout. They have won their last three league games which were away at Fulham (0-2), at home to Aston Villa (4-1) and then at home to Ipswich (1-0).
They have put themselves into the hat for the Semi-Final of the FA Cup after a 3-0 win away at Fulham in the last round at the weekend so they arrive at this fixture in good heart.

We will look at the remaining fixtures from the top flight of football here starting at the American Express Stadium where Brighton will welcome Aston Villa, this fixture ended in a 2-2 draw earlier in the season so we hope for a similar match this time. The homeside are 7th in the table and with only a point separating them from a European spot next season Fabian Hurzeler’s side have everything to play for.
They suffered a Quarter-Final exit from the FA Cup where they lost 4-3 on penalties to Nottingham Forest but in the Premiership they have won four and drawn one of their last five games. The good run started with a victory at home to Chelsea (3-0), then victory away to Brighton (0-4), a win at home against Bournemouth (2-1), a win at home to Fulham (2-1) and in their last league game they came from behind to draw with Man City 2-2 at the Etihad.
The visitors Aston Villa sit in 9th in the table, Unai Emery’s side come into this on a five game winning run in all competitions. They are into the Quarter-Final stage of the Champions League after a 6-1 aggregate victory over Club Brugge to set up a tie against French Champions PSG next. The Midlands side also put themselves into the hat for the FA Semi- Final after a victory away to Preston at the weekend (0-3).
We can expect goals from either side here but will the home advantage be the difference between the two sides?

The next game to look at comes from St James’ Park where Newcastle will host Brentford, the two sides met here in the EFL Cup Quarter-Final where the home side won 3-1. The Tyneside club sit 6th in the table and arrive here on a two match winning run. They beat West Ham away from home in the league (0-1) and then won their first bit of silverware in so many years with a 2-1 victory in the EFL Cup Final beating Liverpool.
We expect Eddie Howe to start Alexander Isak up front, the Swedish international has scored an impressive 19 goals this season and he will see this as a great opportunity to add to that here.
The visitors Brentford will look to complete the home and away double in the league after a 4-2 victory at their ground, Thomas Franks side are 11th in the table and six points their opponents here. They arrive here in decent form having collected 13 pts from their last five league games, victories away at West Ham (0-1), away at Leicester (0-4) and away at Bournemouth (1-2) shows they aren’t worried about going to someone else’s ground to get maximum points. This looks to have goals in it again but you’d have to fancy Newcastle to get the three points.

The final fixture to look at is the Merseyside Derby from Anfield, we had a four goal thriller and two sending off last time they played. Arne Slot’s team are 12 pts clear at the top of the table and look likely to be crowned Champions. They have had some disappointment in their last two games though firstly being knocked out of the Champions League on penalties 4-1 to PSG in front of their home crowd and then five days later being beaten by Newcastle in the EFL Cup Final at Wembley 1-2.
Supporters thought they were en route for at least two pieces of silverware this season but it wasn’t to be. One thing that is for certain is Mohammed Salah getting the Golden Boot, the Egyptian left footer has scored an impressive 27 goals so far this season.
The visitors Everton turned the corner massively since David Moyes took charge for the second time, they looked like being in a relegation tussle but have climbed away to safety now. The Blue side of Merseyside have drawn their last four league games so can they change the trend here? They drew at home to Man United (2-2), drew away against Brentford (1-1), drew away at Wolves (1-1) and more recently at home to West Ham (1-1).
We expect both sides to rise to the occasion here which should signal goals again but will Liverpool get back on the winning front again?
