We have half a dozen matches from the Championship on Wednesday evening, for which we are going to look at the ones involving teams in the playoff positions. The first coming from Turf Moor where Burnley host Hull, Scott Parker’s team ended a slight goal drought with recent 1-0 victories at home to Oxford in the league and a FA Cup fourth round win away at Southampton.
The homeside have won 7, drawn 8 and lost 0 at Turf Moor this season, with Parker hoping to gain automatic promotion to the Premiership it’s a must win game as there is currently three points which separate them and second place Sheffield Utd.
The visitors Hull are 21st in the table and only a point above the drop zone. Ruben Selles’s side managed a shock away win to second place Sheffield Utd (0-3) a couple of weeks ago but more recently suffered a home defeat to Stoke (1-2) so their inconsistency needs ironing out if they want to avoid relegation. Burnley look a cracking bet at industry top price of 8/11 with credit card betting sites. Kick off 7.45pm.
Match Betting: Burnley 4/6, Hull 9/2 and the Draw 5/2.
The second one is from the Stadium of Light where Sunderland host Luton, Regis Le Bris’s side are 4th in the table with a 12pt gap between them and 5th position, they have a bit of a challenge to get automatic promotion but if they put a few wins together anything can happen.
The homeside have scored 8 goals in their last five Championship games but conceding 6 goals has resulted in them drawing three and winning two of them. This is a winnable game but they need to tighten up their defence.
The visitors Luton are 23rd and in a relegation battle, Matt Bloomfield’s side are without a win in 8 league games and only picking up draws at home to Preston (0-0) as well as a draw away to Sheffield Wednesday (1-1). With the next two games against teams against sides at the top of the table picking up any points is a positive. The value bet in this match is Sunderland to win and both teams to score which is top priced at 7/4 with casinos non UK. Kick off 7.45pm.
Match Betting: Sunderland 13/20, Luton 9/2 and the Draw 11/4.
The last of the games to look at is from The Hawthorns where West brom host Blackburn, Tony Mowberry has never lost a game when his side have played against John Eustace’s so will be hoping he can keep that run going here with his side.
The homeside sit in 5th and come into this game on the back of a victory at home to Sheffield Wednesday (2-1), drawing at home has been the problem this season as they have lost only one game and won seven of the 15 games.
The visitors Sunderland are 6th in the table but with it being so close for 5th and 6th positions John Eustace’s doesn’t want to be dropping points here. His side exited the FA Cup at the weekend losing to Premiership side Wolves 2-0 at home so will be hoping to bounce back here. Kick off 8pm.
