Real Mardid’s 8 game unbeaten record in all competitions came to an end at the weekend when they were beaten by Barcelona 5-2 in the Final of the Supercopa de Espana after going off slight favourites with non UKGC casinos. Carlos Ancelotti’s team took an early lead when Mbappe hit the back of the net after 5 mins but by half time Real were 4-1 down. Barcelona went down to ten men just before the hour mark but there was no comeback for Real with the game ended 5-2 to Catalans.

Anelotti has his side in 2nd at the midway point of the season and still in the Champions League as well the last 16 of the Copa del Rey so some silverware is what the supporters want. The next three games for the Galatico’s are against Celta in the Copa del Rey, Las Palmas in La Liga and RB Salzburg in the Champions League all of these are at the Bernabeu. Real Madrid are always on the lookout for a marquee signing but we can’t see anything happening until the summer.

Atletico Madrid are sitting top of the table a point clear of second, Diego Simone’s team have won their last seven matches in La Liga. The attacking power they have at their disposal is phenomenal Alexander Sorloth netting 8, Antoine Griezmann 7 and Julian Alvarez 6.

Simone’s men are still in the Champions League and the Copa del Rey which involves three matches in 6 days in three competitions in coming days.

Although they aren’t expected to be ending the season as La Liga winners they will be putting up a fight and certainly put Madrid rivals to the sword.

Barcelona although picking up silverware at the weekend find themselves somewhat chasing down their league rivals currently. Hans-Dieter Flick sides are 3rd in La Liga 6pts off leaders and 5pts off second place Real Madrid. The last two games in the league have ended in defeats losing at home 1-0 to Leganes and more recently 2-1 at home to Atletico Madrid where they were heavy favourites in both matches with gambling sites that accept credit cards. Supporters will be hoping that their last three games which have all been in the two domestic cups and ended in victories will follow on in the league.

The Catalan Club have Real Betis at home in the Copa del Rey next and then the first game back in the league after their festive break is away at Getafe. It’s only half way through the season but if they are to challenge the leader pair they have got to put in a great run of form to close the gap at the top.
