We have two games live on tv tonight, the best coming from Stamford Bridge for a London Derby in which Chelsea host West Ham. Enzo Maresca’s side have the chance to jump back up to 4th in the Premier League with a victory here, with both Man City and Newcastle losing at the weekend.
Chelsea have had a rest to reset after their 3-1 defeat to Man City at the Etihad last week, they took the lead after just 3 minutes when Noni Madueke but Pep’s side equalised just before half time before taking control of the game midway through the second half.
The home fans will be hoping their team can put a statement out tonight after showing a slight dip in form winning only one and drawing three of their last seven games in the league. With the forward trio of Cole Palmer (14) Nicolas Jackson (9) and Noni Madueke (7) they will always be a threat and an early goal for them would be a massive benefit.
West Ham aren’t having the best season currently sitting in 15th in the league but since Julen Lopetegui was sacked Graham Potter has won one, drawn one and lost one in the Premiership with his side. The Hammers beat Fulham at the London Stadium 3-2, then lost 0-2 at home to Palace and more recently got a good point at Villa Park when they drew 1-1.
This Derby fixture always produces goals. We have seen a goalless game since September 2018 which was at the London Stadium but one statistic that doesn’t bode well for the travelling side is they haven’t got a victory at Stamford Bridge since November 2019 when Manuel Pellegrini was in charge getting a 1-0 win.
In the last ten games between the two clubs Chelsea have won 6, drawn 1 and lost 3 so the homeside will see this as a great opportunity to get back on track with their Champions League place goal for the end of the season. The recommended bet looks like Chelsea to win and both teams to score which is top priced at 6/4 with American betting sites for UK. Kick off 8pm Live on Sky Sports.
Match Betting: Chelsea 1/3, West Ham 15/2 and the Draw 9/2.
The second televised match today comes from La Liga where Girona host Las Palmas at the Estadi Montilivi Stadium, Michel’s side sit in mid-table but come into this game on the back of four straight losses in all competitions. They lost 2-1 at home to Sevilla, 1-0 away to Milan in the Champions League, 2-1 away to bottom of the league Rayo Vallecano and more recently a 2-1 home defeat to Arsenal in Europe again.
It looks extremely unlikely that the homeside will be qualifying for the Champions League again next season but their fans will hope they can get a win here this evening.
The visitors Las Palmas sit in 15th in La Liga at the moment and Diego Martinez’s side just sit two points above the relegation zone, without a victory in their last four games. They suffered a 4-0 loss away to Elche in the Copa del Rey, before loses to Getafe 1-2, Real Madrid 4-1 and more recently getting a last minute equaliser at home to Osasuna to make it 1-1. They played with 10 men for 20 minutes of that game as well as missing a penalty in that match. The old Man United player Adnan Januzaj scored after being brought off the bench. Kick off 8pm live on Premier Sports.
