This week’s Thursday night football action comes from the Europa League, the first of the British clubs to play is Tottenham who are away at Hoffenheim. Christian Ilzer’s team are having a tough season in the Bundesliga sitting in 15th at the halfway stage of the season but will be coming into this game on the back of a 3-1 victory away to Kiel.

Spurs aren’t having the best season either, Ange Postecoglou’s side are 15th in the Premier League and have lost their last two league games away at Arsenal (2-1) and more recently away at Everton (3-2). The chance of silverware is still possible with a trip to Wembley for the EFL Cup final against Liverpool next month something that is on supporters’ minds. James Maddison is the teams top scorer with 8 goals this season but he has been putting in poor performances against the bigger clubs.

This will be no easy game for the travelling Spurs players but with neither team in the best of form it could go either way. Kick off 5.45pm Live on TNT Sports.

The later match is an all British affair where Man United are hosting Rangers at Old Trafford, Ruben Amorim reds will be coming into this match on the back of a 3-1 home defeat to Brighton. The form for the home side has really been disappointing in their last six domestic league games they have just one win at home to Southampton (3-1) they have suffered defeats at home to Bournemouth (0-3), away at Wolves (2-0), at home to Newcastle (0-2) and then a draw away at Liverpool (2-2).

They have managed to get to the fourth round of the FA Cup but by United’s standards it’s really not good enough but the young talent Amad Diallo is a future prospect for the faithful.

Rangers are on a three game winning run all at Ibrox, Philippe Clement sides victories have been 3-1 to St Johnstone, 3-0 Aberdeen and more recently 5-0 to Fraserburgh in the 4th round of the Scottish Cup. They sit in 2nd place in the Scottish Premiership but 13 pts behind Celtic and 10 pts clear of 3rd place Dundee Utd. This is a big ask to get a result at Old Trafford but they are in better form than the homeside currently. Kick off 8pm Live on TNT Sports.
