This weekend we will find out who will be crowned Champions of Europe 2024/25, the fixture will take place at the Allianz Arena in Munich but which side will come out on top PSG or Inter Milan. The two sides have met five times before with four of those contests being Club Friendly Games and then they met in the International Champions Cup back in 2016 in America where PSG won 3-1.

The French side have been dominating the Ligue 1 winning six of the last 7 seasons titles, Luis Enrique’s side had this seasons top spot in control for a long period of time with it just being a case of how many points they won by. They ended the season 19 points clear of second place Marseille and their top scorer Ousmane Dembele also clinched the Golden Boot with 21 league goals for the season. The French striker has 8 goals in the Champions League this campaign and he will be hoping to increase that against Inter.

PSG will look to get their hands on this trophy for the first time in their history, Thomas Tuchel was in charge of PSG when they were runners up in 2020 getting beat to Bayern Munich 1-0 in Lisbon. Now Enrique knows what it takes to win the biggest trophy in domestic football having won it with Barcelona in 2015. He took charge of PSG last season where he took his side to the last four of this competition but came up short against Dortmund losing 1-0 at home and away.

We know the French Champions have plenty of pace to catch their opponents on the counter attack and we expect Enrique to start with Ousmane Dembele as the main man but then they have options with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue, Goncaolo Ramos and Bradley Barcola. The latter has netted 14 times in Ligue 1 this season so could start as the second of attacking trio.

They face a side in Inter who just missed out on the Serie A title this season, having been leading for much of the season they lost out by a point to Napoli. Simone Inzaghi’s team also came up short in the Coppa Italia getting beat by local rivals AC Milan in the Semi-Finals so this remains their last chance for Silverware this season. The Italian side were involved in a thrilling Champions League last four contest against Barcelona, the first leg in Spain they drew 3-3 having been 2-0 up after 20 minutes. It was all to play for in the return leg and again having taken a 2-0 lead against the Catalan side they found themselves 2-3 behind when Raphina sealed the comeback for his side in the 87th minute. In the third minute of injury time the homeside brought it back to 3-3 thanks to Francesco Acerbi who netted with his right foot to the top right corner.

After 180 minutes of football nothing could separate the sides (6-6 on aggregate) so extra time was needed. In the first half of extra time Inzaghi’s side took the lead once more thanks to substitute Davide Frattesi scoring with his left foot. The Italian side put eleven men behind the ball for the remainder of the match and came out on top.

Inter last won the competition back in 2009/10 season beating Bayern Munich 2-0 with a brace from Diego Milito. They have since been runners up in the 2022/23 season losing out to Man City in Istanbul 1-0 in a very close contest.

We expect Simone Inzaghi to start with the partnership of captain Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram who have scored 39 goals combined in Europe and Serie A this season. This Final looks to have goals in it and if we see an early goal in the first ten minutes it will certainly open up the game for the viewers. Kick off 20.00pm Saturday Live on TNT Sports 1.
