This Thursday is Night 3 of the Premier League Darts 2025 and the league leader Luke Humphries will start the evening off when he plays Stephen Bunting, Humphries won night one of the Premier League season and got beat in the final game last week to Luke Littler (6-5). He sits three points clear at the top going into this game and will hope to start his evening with a victory here.

His challenger Stephen Bunting hasn’t got any points on the board at the moment after losing his opening games in both weeks to Rob Cross (4-6) and then in week two he suffered a thrashing to Michael van Gerwen (6-1). He beat the world number 1 last time they met in the semi-final of the Bahrain Masters (7-6) but the head to head Humphries is in the lead 6-4.

The Welshman has beat Littler the last three times they have met in the US Masters (7-6), Australian Masters (8-1) and then more recently in Bahrain (6-2). 

His opponent Luke Littler is in second in the league at present with 5 pts, he lost on the opening night to Van Gerwen but last week he won all three matches against Rob Cross (6-5), Van Gerwen (6-2) and then Luke Humphries (6-5) so arrives in to night three with confidence. The head to head is 4-4 so who will edge in front Thursday?

The last of the opening games on night three is Michael van Gerwen up against Chris Dobey, Van Gerwen has 4 pts on the board after getting past the first game of each opening night, he beat Littler (6-5)in week one and then Bunting (6-1) in week two before Littler got his revenge beating the Dutchman (6-2) in the second game. Van Gerwen beat Dobey when they met in the World Championship semi-final this year (6-1) and leads the head to head 6-4.

His opponent Chris Dobey has 3 pts on the board and sits in 4th going into night three, he had two wins on the opening week to Price (6-4) and Cross (6-4) before losing to Humphries. He lost his opening game of the second week to that man again (6-4). These two haven’t played against each other in this competition since 2023 so it will be interesting to see how the match unfolds.
