We have a handful of afternoon games from the Premiership this Saturday to look into with you the first being from Villa Park where Aston Villa host Ipswich, Villa’s home form has been great this season being beaten just once here in the league to Arsenal back in August. Unai Emery’s side are 8th as it stands but if they put some consecutive victories together a European position for next season is possible.

They will arrive into this game without a win in three games in the league, they drew away to Arsenal (2-2), a draw at home to West Ham (1-1) and then more recently a defeat to rivals Wolves at Mollineaux (2-0). There’s a possibility that Marcus Rashford will make his home debut here.

The visitors Ipswich are in a relegation battle and three points from safety, Kieran McKenna’s side have lost their last four games in the league losing at home to Ipswich (0-2), at home to Man City (0-6), away to Liverpool (4-1) and more recently a defeat to bottom of the table Southampton (1-2). The next two fixtures are tough for them, after this trip they have a home game with Spurs followed by a trip to Old Trafford to face Man United. Kick off 3pm.

The next game for us to look at comes from Craven Cottage where Fulham host Nottingham Forest, Marco Silva’s side are six places below their opponents in the league but they will come into this game in confidence having beat Newcastle away (1-2) and then a fourth round FA Cup victory against Wigan (1-2). In-form striker Rodrigo Muniz has scored three in his last two games so it’s likely he will be in the starting eleven here.

The visitors Forest are over achieving this season and are en route to a Champions League adventure for their fans, they sit 3rd in the Premiership with 14 games of the season to go. Nuno Santo’s bounced back from their five goal thrashing away at Bournemouth with a 7-0 win at home to Brighton in the last league game. The form of striker Chris Wood is phenomenal scoring 17 goals so far this season, the 33yo forward presents has been troubling opponents defences all campaign. Kick off 3pm.

The final game for us to look at here is a Derby coming from the London Stadium, with West Ham welcoming Brentford. Graham Potter’s side are 16th in the table but ten points away from the bottom three at present, his side have lost two and drawn the other in the last three league games. This could go either way but the last time these two met it ended 1-1 so it wouldn’t be a surprise if they shared the points again.

The visitors Brentford are mid-table as it stands but will arrive into this game winning their last two away games in the league, they beat bottom of the table Southampton (0-5) followed by a victory to Crystal Palace (1-2). The issue for Thomas Frank’s side hasn’t been going forward; it’s been the leaky defence so their fans will be hoping they can stay tight before exploiting on the counter attack. Kick off 3pm.
