World Darts Championship and NFL Christmas Day Fixtures

For Sports fans the gifts aren’t just received on one day. We have numerous events throughout the month of December and not all will be affected by potential bad weather causing abandonment. We will first look at the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship which is held at Alexander Palace for the 19th time and the 33rd edition of the tournament. The event has expanded with 128 players due to take their chances with the top 32 players currently in the world being seeded meaning they won’t meet in the first round (11th-18th December).

The top nine seedings for this competition are; Luke Littler (1st), Luke Humphries (2nd) who won this back in 2024, Michael van Gerwen (3rd) three time World Champion, Stephen Bunting (4th) former BDO World Champion, Jonny Clayton (5th) Welsh Number one, Danny Noppert (6th) 2022 UK Open winner, James Wade (7th) whos reached the World Championship semi-finals four times, Chris Dobey (8th) who reached the semi-finals here last year and Gerwen Price (9th) 2021 World Champion. 

The Darting legend Phil Taylor won this title an impressive 14 times throughout his career so can the new kid on the block Luke Littler match the success of the retired player. Littler is looking to defend his title after beating Michael van Gerwen 7-3 in last year’s decider. 

Last year Luke Littler earnt £500,000 but the 2026 winner will pocket a massive £1 million and the runner up £400,000! The sponsors Paddy Power have said that like last year £60,000 will be awarded to each player, a random fan and also Prostate Cancer for every nine dart finish throughout the competition.
