IS JOHN TERRY FINDING IT HARD TO SAY SORRY?

ABOVE: Ferdinand has a few things to remember now he is captain
8th February 2010

By Brian Woolnough

WE KNOW he’s gutted and believe he was shocked when Fabio Capello told him he was losing the England armband.

But is John Terry sorry? You would have thought somewhere in his heart Terry could have found a moment to say it.

Sorry is the hardest word and yet it should have been easy for the disgraced former England captain.

Such is the embarrassment he has brought to the most prestigious job it was the least he could have said. We can only presume he isn’t.

MEMO to Rio Ferdinand, the new England captain.

Don’t appeal against that FA ban, play in the Carling Cup Final and prove your fi tness and form.

Don’t think you are bigger than the role. You’re not.

Don’t make stupid off-pitch mistakes as we have seen in the past.

Treat the armband with respect. Prove yourself a real leader of men.

Listen to Fabio Capello, he hates being messed around. And don’t go out with John Terry.
